With the relaunch of the World of Warcraft classic servers so too comes the return of Murk, the true hero of all Azeroth!
Note:
This game is still in development and might contain bugs! If you find one, post it on the Reddit page (Link in-game). I am also always adding new content and improving the stability of the game so make sure to check in on my progress from time to time!
Background:
From an early age, I was enthralled by both WoW and the golden age of flash games that came in at a similar time, I spent hours on sites like Armour games and Newgrounds; wanting one day to also produce something that would be remembered in nerd history.
Now older and trained in the dark arts of computer programming I have taken up the task of reforging and rebirthing the epic tale of Murk the Murloc for a modern audience. I plan to continue the legacy that is Murloc RPG and continue where "un-mediocre" left off over 10 years ago!
Project Goals:
- Make an epic mobile remake of the Murloc RPG game
- Have some big YouTuber play it so I can show my friends and feel smug
- Get a "cease and desist" letter so I have something interesting to frame in my hallway

- I'd love to eventually get a IOS version built and released
- Polish some of the outstanding systems and code
- Add never before seen zones and content, merging aspects of both games

OMG, I remember spending hours upon hours playing this when I was 11. Just the screenshots make me shed tears, will definitely give it a play asap
In classic 2.2.2, I have a problem. Armor seems to do nothing. I'm level 9 with over 400 armor, and it seems to make no difference compared to 0 armor. I take the same amount of damage, and every hit lands. What purpose does armor serve?
Also, is there any way to make it fullscreen?
Also: Where do I get a better weapon than the 2-3 damage dagger? I can't kill Feronious. I'm level 12 and even with abilities like Charge and Frost Nova I just can't kill him. Pummel doesn't stop him from howling. Nothing works!!!
Hey just a few findings on MurlocClassic_V2_PC_2.2.2:
- Armor value doesn't work. I tested it at multiple levels with whatever armor I could use and without it. Ex: Lvl 3 Wolves hit for around 30, and crit of 42. This dmg is regardless of what armor I was wearing.
- My basic attack doesn't get stronger when I level up. At lvl 3 I'm still hitting 4's with the short sword (1-3dmg). So I'm don't think the strength stat is factoring into dmg.
- The beginning zone with the wolves are all your current level compared to the original that depended on how far deep you were into the zone. So at lvl 3 I could still fight lvl 1 wolves at the first layer of the zone. This isn't necessarily a bug but thought I'd bring it to attention.
I'd love to help with this project if you're down. I've dabbled in unity and am a software engineer by trade.
I noticed all the same bugs. I'm an experienced C++ developer, and I'd be glad to help in any way as well.
I did not expect to end it in around 1,5h I hope this games gets more updates, half of the screenshots shown on this page wasn't in my game not sure why
There's a portal at the far right of the map that teleport you to the rest of the game.

you need to have a dagger equiped! I couldn't ambush with great sword but it worked when I used the Grand Marshall's Dirk. Someone suck me please!
Not able to maximize window, even with alt+enter, but it's the good old game, just as we know it. Updated graphics, which is awesome, and it seems like updated gameplay as well. Great job!
Can't get past the wolf boss he keeps spaming the fear were cant attack for two rounds but he hits u for two and why is the dps so low but the enemys is high explain?

Hey, do you have a Patreon? I grew up on this game. I've beat it so many times as a kid. I was playing this with my cousins before any Triple-A game I can think of. I can't do a lot, but a way to talk about updates, and support you as you develope the game sounds great to me.
in terms of RTX settings (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060), what do you recommend? as the version i am playing (V2_PC_2.2.2.zip) is quite off timing with some animations. Plus, am i playing the right version or an old one by any chance?
hello I download the game everything work but the dagger you get when beating the wolf boss does not have damage, anyway so I can't go into the portal at the goblin (can't access the stranglethorn vale content) also the game ends when I enter the portal to the circus how do I get episode 2?
What version of the game did you download, it might be worth checking you installed the second one

For working hard on a flash game, I've payed as a kid (before i even knew english XD) It twinkles my heart and it is beautiful i get to enjoy it thnks to you
Hey there, I've noticed that the game is almost unplayable because the scaling on the levels is wrong. The enemies close to camp are the same level as the one furthest away, which makes it very hard to level up and use anything other then the heroic strike skill if you wanna win the battle. Also I think that the armor value doesn't work cause the enemies hit like trucks and I can't buy better gear. I understand that you are only on person, but until that is fixed I'm gonna play the original. Take care :)
All the wolves scale to your level. As far as all the values they are still the same as the original flash game.
In the original, the wolves closer to the camp were weaker even if you were a high level.

Anyone else unable to beat Feronius The Ferocious? I've been grinding but he keeps leveling with me, so here I am level 8 and am it's only getting harder. am I just specced wrong and utterly fucked? I went full warrior skill tree, then went to the healer one. no matter what I do I can't win
Not really, I did it at 9 or 10 with charge, pummel and execute to finish him off

I downloaded Murloc 2 from http://www.softoware.org/games/download-murloc-2-for-windows.html and after installing the game I get an error "class not registered".

I downloaded the game from the above link. the window appears very small. any way to increase its size and make it bigger?
Fascinating that this exists, however even from the early game in Elwynn forest I noticed that armor barely does anything (if it means anything at all since the damage doesn't get reduced, only increases steadily with level ups) and the wolves can destroy you as a result. Feels like the only defense you have against enemies leveling up is getting the protective skills/spells first, which limits freedom and satisfaction greatly
Just dealt a measly 3 damage to a wolf that had 6 hp on level 4 with the Murloc shop's sword. Huh?
Seems to run a lot slower then the original flash version off Flashpoint. Still, I'll give it a shot, if it has new content...
Edit: Appears to have no new content beyond what was in the flash Stranglethorn version. Nor any content from episode 2.

hey, where can I find the save file of the game? I played it on my friends computer and I was pretty far in the game, but I want to continue with my save. I tried to export the registry file:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DefaultCompany\MurlocClassic
but nothing happens...
is there any way to export the game save?

Is there an ETA on the next patch? I'm a big fan, played thru your version a few times and excited to see what you do next.
Aaa that's quite the issue! Unfortunately, I don't think you can natively but others have definitely used external tools to expand the game's window. https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases.
Note in the next "Expansion" I will be fixing this issue!

hi it seem i can't access Stranglethorn Vale content for somereason what am i doing wrong also the weapons you get and armor do not work
What version of the game do you have installed?
Wondering if you may have a rough idea or estimate as to when we can expect an IOS version, no rush, just curious.
I spent a large amount of time looking into an IOS build, in essence, to make an IOS build it need's to be on the app store unless you have a cracked ios phone which is a very small number of people do. For IP reasons Apple will not allow this game on their app store. So in effect to make an IOS build for a small number of people can use it will require a £100 license fee ;/ Soo I would only really make ios build when I am working on another game that then makes it worthwhile to sign up for IOS license. Understandably this suck but that apple for you
just make sure you can play it on android and you can play it with bluestacks or NOX on your PC
I've downloaded the V2 2.2.2.apk for my android Galaxy S10e.
It installed, but after pressing new game, it crashes everytime after getting to maybe 5% on the loading screen.
The PC version worked great! Although after beating it the first time though, I was able to do a Save Game glitch, giving my Level 1 Character the end of the game weapon which could one hit kill everything in the game. I enjoyed that though :)
Hey, sorry to hear that things are not working on your mobile! This issue typically is caused by ram problems but seems strange with your phone since it should be able to handle stuff. I can look into it but it might take a while since I am currently quite deep into working on an update ;/ Glad things are going well for the PC version however!
No worries! After uninstalling, Redownloading, and reinstalling a few times, It started working just as well as the PC version! If there's a way to find and send the crash report to you, if it would help at all I could try and do that?
Hey, where are the saves located? Another question: I play MurlocV2 and the STR doesnt scale with damage -> if i have more STR i still dont do more DMG

This is riddled with bugs. I remember it fondly from my childhood, but I can't overlook the bugs...
First, the level limits/caps don't work, meaning that you are equipping level 5 equipment on a level 1 character and being killed by tutorial level enemies that should be a piece of cake. They crit way too often, and armor had negligible effect
Second, the saves are bugged so that any item stack in your inventory is reduced to 1. Always. This is quite frustrating, especially as the first quest has you get 10 wolf meat.
Third, the lantern graphics at the gate don't work. This may be a programming limitation issue, I don't know much about programming
Fourth, the boss abilities don't consume stamina.
Fifth, you can't increase your stats.
I haven't encountered any more bugs, but I haven't managed to get past the first area.
Please fix this.
Edit: after noting the aforementioned bugs, I went and found some more bugs... game breaking ones.
I BROKE THE GAME AT LEVEL 1, USING BUGS!
Hi, sorry you ran into a few bugs. But for what it is worth some of the things you mentioned just are not a thing in the original game.
So for that reason, bad design or not I wanted to include them, things like the stacking is a known issue and have been fixed in the upcoming revamp of the whole game I am working on. I will look into items being able to be equipped before their level though also.
Interested to know how you broke the game though also?
The saves are utterly broken. They are responsible for resetting stacks. But they also interact with them and the character page in.... unique ways.
Let me describe them in detail, in how to exploit them, as I am at a loss on how to explain these bugs otherwise.
First method:
1. Start game.
2.Save game.
3. Get wolf meat, experience, coins after killing wolf.
4. Open inventory(not character equipment, inventory)
4. Load previous save. Make sure you have the inventory open before you do so.
5. The wolf meat should still in your inventory, while your character should have no experience.
Second method:
This requires two saves to achieve, and may or may not have weird reactions to spiced meat, so I would not have spiced meat in your inventory.
1. Have a save with a character that has valuable/powerful items equipped(the character and save will be referred to as M1 and S1 for convenience).
2. Have a low-level/new character in another save, with little to no items in this character's inventory. This save will be referred to as S2, and the character referred to as M2.
3.Load S1.
4. Open the M1 character screen . Don't open the inventory or talent page or anything else, only just the character screen. It should show your core stats, and should show your current equipment.
5. Load S2 immediately after opening the M1 character screen.
6. When S2 loads, open the character screen, and only the M2 character screen. It should show M2 as having equipped whatever M1 was wearing. An exception being if S2 is a new game, and you still have the Old Rag equipped on M2. That will still be equipped to M2. You have now cloned your S1 equipment over to S2.
7(optional). Unequip the cloned items on M2, and save in S2. Repeat process and sell items for profit.
Interesting, you are the first person to spot this. This should get fixed soon, but probably won't come out till the big revamp has been completed.

you also get stuck when you interact with the teleporter before you are able to, if you manage to get to it before Feronius and the kobolds spawn in during the second quest.
Also the first exploit I mentioned above lets you fight Feronius at level 1(with Feronius also being at level 1). If you sell the Worn Dagger, you have enough to get everything in the Brakkil Village shop. With a Warrior, this makes the fight easier.
also, I think the saves also mess with the quest. If use the second exploit with feronius, I think some weird stuff happens. I think it might make Feronius disappear? I haven't checked.
Also, did I explain everything good enough?
the game does not load, the bar stays almost at the end and the music plays, but even if I wait it does not load, do I need some requirement to play it?, I already tried with the two versions on pc. please I want to play your version.

Just downloaded it and so excited to play it's been years! This game got me into WoW back in 2008 and it's always been a favorite of mine. So excited to see someone put so much effort into making this playable again and hopefully more people back this up cuz I'd love to see additional content in the future!
